At Mill House Nursery Escrick, we aim to offer a ‘home from home’ warm, friendly and nurturing environment with lots of opportunity for fun and learning with stimulating activities, outings and experiences.

We are the only nursery in the Selby area with the Hygge accreditation. Hygge (pronounced hue-gah) is a Danish concept that focuses on finding well-being by enjoying the comforts in everyday routines and all that’s around you. It’s an art of creating feelings of cosiness, happiness, familiarity, simplicity and comfort. We have found that children at Mill House Nursery feel calmer, relaxed, and overall, it promotes an all-round feeling of togetherness and enjoyment.

Registered with OFSTED in January 2023, Mill House Nursery Escrick has recently undergone major renovations to create a warm, welcoming and holistic environment for your child to flourish in.

Nursery is split into three rooms; Baby, Toddler and Pre-School. Unlike other nurseries, these rooms are not strictly set by age, instead we go by the child’s developmental stages to help us determine when they will move into the next room. And, although we have the separate rooms, the children often get to spend time together, especially at meal times and outside play. We have found this to help the children develop their personal, social and emotional skills. Each room has a cosy, natural feel with toys and resources accessible at all times for the children to explore.
