Cawood Nursery

At Mill House Childcare, we aim to offer a ‘home from home’ warm, friendly and nurturing environment with lots of opportunity for fun and learning with stimulating activities, outings and experiences. Emily, Chris, George and Freddie call this historic building in the centre of Cawood their home which is evident from the homely feel as soon as you walk in.

Mill House Childcare is unique. We are larger than a traditional childminder and not quite as big as a nursery. Children here have amazing personal, social and emotional skills as all ages mix throughout the home. Mixing ages has proven to develop children’s speech and language sills, empathy and wellbeing.

At our Outstanding (graded in June 2023) setting, we follow the children’s interests to deliver the Early Years Statutory Framework. Through messy play, stories, child-led play, outside play and much more we aim to provide your child with an all-encompassing, well-rounded education, ready for them to begin their journey into Primary School.

Situated in the heart of Cawood, Mill House Childcare is an integral part of the community. The children love nothing more than exploring the local area, visiting all the local businesses and church and surprising the villagers with random acts of kindness. We also have excellent links with the local primary schools to ensure any transitions into formal education are as smooth as possible for you and your child.
