Who We Are
Mill House Nursery is a family owned and run childcare setting. Our Cawood site first opened in 2014, followed by our Escrick site in 2022, both of which are ideal for anyone commuting to Selby, York or Leeds areas.
Our close-knit teams, both at Cawood and Escrick, deliver outstanding childcare, with the children at the heart of all we do.
Our Ethos
Here at Mill House Nursery, we aim to offer a ‘home from home’, warm, friendly and nurturing environment with lots of opportunity for fun and learning with stimulating activities, outings and experiences.
Our aim is for the children to feel calm and relaxed whilst having fun. We promote an all-round feeling of togetherness and enjoyment with a focus on children’s wellbeing which is fundamental in their development and continuing progress.
We believe all children should have equal opportunities and given the chance to achieve their full potential. Our enriched curriculum develops the children’s knowledge and understanding of the world, adding to what they already know so when their time comes to leave us, they are full of a wide range of experiences and awareness of the world around them.
Famly App
At Mill House Nursery we use the Famly app, this is a great interactive way for parents to communicate with our settings and see their child’s progress, Our trained nursery staff will provide daily updates on exciting activities and other essentials like nap times and nappy changes.
Parent Partnership
You are your child’s primary educator and know your child better than anybody else. Research has shown that strong parent-carer partnerships have a lasting impact on children, which has benefits in all areas of life.
It is therefore very important that we have a good form of communication to enable me to provide your child with the best possible care.
We will always make time to discuss any concerns or issues you may have regarding your child and welcome any thoughts, suggestions or comments you may have regarding our service or your child’s care.
Safeguarding
Your child’s safety and wellbeing is paramount, we endeavour to keep the Nursery hazard free by regularly carrying out risk assessments and using safety equipment where necessary.
We have a duty of care to all children and follow Safeguarding guidelines. All our members of staff are fully DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and we follow a rigorous recruitment procedure.
We have in place detailed Safeguarding Children and Health and Safety policies, in accordance with the welfare requirements of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage). Printed copies of our policies are available on request.
