EMILY FREEMAN - DIRECTOR
Hello, I’m Emily owner of Mill House Childcare. We opened in September 2014 and the business has grown from there. I studied Childcare and Education at York College for three years, receiving my qualification in July 2005.
After completing my course, I went on to be a full-time Nanny. During my time as a Nanny, I gained a wealth of experience from newborn babies all the way through to school aged children. I find my job extremely rewarding and enjoy the fact that no day is ever the same.
CATHERINE - AREA MANAGER
Hello, I’m Catherine and I am the Manager of Mill House Childcare. I studied Primary Education at York St John University, gaining my BaHons and QTS in 2012. I have 10 years teaching experience, working in a range of year groups and schools in North and East Yorkshire.
I began working at Mill House in February 2019. As Manager, I have taken on many roles including Designated Safeguarding Officer and Planning Coordinator. I hope to bring my years of experience and expertise to Mill House and look forward to working closely with you.
LUCY - CAWOOD MANAGER
Hello, I’m Lucy and I joined the Mill House team in June 2019. I completed my Level 3 in Childcare at Mill House and now I am now Deputy Manager and Communications Lead.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and going for long walks.
BRYONY - ESCRICK DEP, MANAGER
Hi my name is Bryony. I live in Brayton with my husband Ed, our two boys Luke and Jaxson and our pet cat sansa and joey the hamster.
I have 14 years experience in childcare ranging from birth right up to 16 years old, I am currently working towards my level 5 management in children’s and young persons care. In my free time me and my family love to go exploring and visiting zoos and aquariums.
ASHLEIGH - CAWOOD
Hello, I’m Ashleigh and I started at Mill House in February 2020. I am here term time only. I am also working towards my Level 3 apprenticeship in Childcare.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family, taking my dog for a walk and swimming.
CHRIS - CAWOOD
Hello, I’m Chris and I started at Mill House in January 2022. I completed my Level 3 in Childcare. I am also the Health and Safety Lead at Mill House.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family, taking my dogs for a walk and going out on my motorbike.
JANINE - ESCRICK
Hello, I’m Janine I have 17 years SEN teaching assistant experience, with a specialism in autism, working within a primary education setting. I have also gained my forest school accreditation and completed a Thrive well-being course. I hope that my many years of experience will be invaluable to all the children at Mill House.
In my spare time I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends.
JEANETTE - ESCRICK
Hi my name is Jeanette. I am married to Tony and we have two children together; Megan who is 8 and Jack who is 6. Together we like to eat out, go for walks and have family board game nights. I have been an early years practitioner for 20 years. I love to develop children’s curiosities and imaginations. To see their faces light up when they have achieved something brightens my day.
